BEIJING, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- A spokesman for the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) said in a reply to a reporter's question on the U.S. issuance of semiconductor export control measures against China on Dec. 4 that China's industrial and commercial sector calls on the U.S. side to immediately stop adopting unilateral restrictive measures, abide by the rules of international trade and economic cooperation, take practical actions to promote the healthy development of the global semiconductor industry, safeguard the security and stability of the global industrial chain supply chain, and make the global industrial supply chain “world win-win chain”. Recently, the U.S. side released its semiconductor export control measures against China, further tightening the export control of semiconductor manufacturing equipment, memory chips and other items to China, and adding 136 Chinese entities to the list of export control entities. In this regard, the spokesman for the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) said that China's industrial and commercial sector is firmly opposed to the U.S. side's misuse of export control measures and the implementation of long-arm jurisdiction over Chinese enterprises. The U.S. side's economic coercion and embargo against Chinese enterprises in related industries is a serious violation of the laws of market economy and the principle of fair competition. The U.S. side ignores the rules of international trade and economic cooperation, bent on destroying the global industrial chain supply chain stability and cooperation, will certainly have a serious impact on the global semiconductor industry, including U.S. companies. The spokesman said that the global semiconductor industry has been close exchange and cooperation. Abuse of unilateral sanctions will seriously affect the global semiconductor industry cooperation and development basis. Maintaining the resilience and stability of the global industrial chain supply chain, including the semiconductor industry, is an important guarantee for the sustainable development of the world economy, and is in line with the common interests of the international community and enterprises of all countries."
